Jugantar Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (JSUS) introduced Child Rights Development Program in the year 2000 in Chittagong City Corporation. Program concentrated to establish child rights among underprivileged & disadvantaged poor & middle class adolescents in the light of CRC.

JSUS started from an area that is known as old city of Chittagong. The place is surrounded by famous market Khatungonj that is known as heart of business center in Chittagong. This market has been utilizes a large number of child labor at a lower wages to maximize their profit. JSUS communicated to such boy’s family and the business owner’s of the market to allow this unprivileged boys with JSUS’s development activities. Though there were some obstacles to motivate the shop owner’s, we at last succeeded to get the child labors and their families together and able to make them understand about the benefit of child rights program. Our major intervention were as follows:

 i)                    Organize & develop children’s team

ii)                   Select & Train on leadership

iii)                 Train on CRC

iv)                 Life skill training

v)                  Conscious against drugs, trafficking, dowry, early marriage, different disease including HIV/Aids etc

vi)                 Aware on health & Nutrition and.

vii)               Campaign against hazardous child labor.

This program was supported by National & International organization like BSAF, Terredess homes, ILO to implement at Chittagong City Corporation area, Patiya, Anowara uppazilla & Cox’s Bazar district.
